Pharmacist - PRN Job Summary

City of Hope is seeking a skilled Pharmacist - PRN to provide patient-centered care and integrated pharmacy services in a decentralized and centralized practice setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and interpret providers' orders for all medications, ensuring therapeutic incompatibilities and cost-effective medication use.
  • Assist with monitoring of drug therapy, with an emphasis on chemotherapy, and provide education on drug information to providers and clinical staff.
  • Oversee technician staff in sterile intravenous compounding, using centralized and decentralized medication-use systems.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects, emphasizing patient safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal medication management for patients.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • Active license with the State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy or other advanced degree highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years' institutional pharmacy experience or strong interest in institutional and oncology pharmacy.
