Job Summary:

The Poughkeepsie City School District is seeking a skilled Bus Operator to join our team. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for safely transporting students and staff to and from school, as well as performing custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe learning environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate a school bus on a regular schedule and/or special occasions
  • Check the operating condition of the bus before starting on a trip
  • Report any defects to superior
  • Maintain orderly conduct of passengers on the bus
  • Participate in all building cleaning and minor maintenance activities
  • Check to ensure that buildings are cleaned, locked, and in readiness for all activities
  • Keep simple activity records

Requirements:
  • Meets Civil Service qualifications for the position
  • Valid NYS Driver's License B with P&S endorsements
