We are seeking a highly motivated Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Focus Staff. This is a 13-week contract opportunity in Cambridge, MA.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes.

The MRI Technologist operates magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images (photographs) of patient’s body for diagnostic purposes. Under the direction of the Chief of Radiology and the Imaging Services Director, with latitude for independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative, performs related technological functions to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care utilizing efficient and safe processes.

The ideal candidate will have two years of regular continuous recent experience as a MRI Technologist and be fully proficient in all the duties required of a MRI Technologist II. A license in the required state, BLS certification, and effective oral and written communication skills are also essential.

This position requires strong knowledge of procedures and patient safety, as well as being compassionate and sensitive. The ability to learn applications relevant to the position is also necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Perform patient studies according to set protocol including placing specified coil close to area of interest.
  • Operate imaging and other equipment devices so that quality diagnostic services are provided.
  • Interview patients to explain magnetic resonance imaging procedures and address patient concerns.
  • Evaluate patients via closed circuit TV to ensure patient and staff safety.
Requirements
  • Two years of regular continuous recent experience as a MRI Technologist.
  • Fully proficient in all the duties required of a MRI Technologist II.
  • Licensed in the required state.
  • BLS certification.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn applications relevant to the position.
