Position Overview:

The Material Handling Operator plays a crucial role in managing the flow of raw materials and finished products within our production facility. This position involves utilizing material handling equipment and executing electronic inventory transactions through our ERP system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely unload incoming materials from delivery vehicles.
  • Accurately store products in designated locations using SAP.
  • Prepare and load customer orders onto outgoing trucks.
  • Issue materials to production accurately using SAP.
  • Maintain organization in logistics areas following 5S principles.
  • Operate various material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Adhere to production schedules and prioritize tasks as communicated.
  • Ensure safe handling of materials during unloading, storage, and movement.
  • Utilize a computer-guided inventory system effectively.
  • Assist with basic receiving tasks under the guidance of a Logistics Supervisor.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform any other related tasks as assigned by management.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Preference given to Driver Operators on other shifts based on seniority.
  • Next preference for Backup Driver Operators on the current shift, followed by those on other shifts, also based on seniority.
  • All other team members are considered thereafter.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Certification in forklift operation, material handling, and OSHA training is preferred.
  • A reliable team player eager to learn and adapt to various operations.
  • Strong commitment to team morale, customer service, safety, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Ability to multitask effectively.
  • Experience with forklifts and other material handling equipment is essential.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing shipping and receiving environment is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift weights up to 50 lbs. for short durations.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods, up to 12 hours.
  • Strong communication skills are necessary.
