Hematopathologist Specialist

LabCorp is seeking a skilled Hematopathologist to enhance the patient and customer experience at the Center for Molecular Biology and Pathology (CMBP) in Durham, NC.

CMBP is a 150,000 sq. ft. facility that employs ~500 people focused on laboratory operations and testing in various departments, including hematopathology, dermatopathology, and clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Professional interpretation of hematopathology specimens, including bone marrow and lymph node biopsies, peripheral blood smears, and flow cytometry.
• Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, and safety guidelines/standards.
• Oversight and assurance of accurate and timely evaluation of specimens tested.
• Provide expert consultation as needed with clients and staff.

Requirements:

• Licensed physician with Board Certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
• Subspecialty Board Certification in Hematopathology.
• Active medical license in NC, FL, and IL, with potential for additional state licenses.
• Experience with bone marrow, blood, and lymph node morphology and interpreting multicolor flow cytometry tests.
• Working knowledge of cytogenetics and molecular genetics.
• Strong customer focus and understanding of laboratory operations.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in hematopathology, preferably in a hospital or large referral laboratory setting.
