Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Altru Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for producing high-quality images of the heart and its functioning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality images of the heart and its functioning.
  • Record and analyze cardiac data and measurements to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
  • Protect and assist patients during procedures, including transesophageal cardiograms and dobutamine stress tests.
  • Communicate effectively with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Identify and report any changes in patient clinical circumstances that may impact exam protocols and performance.
Requirements
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) within 18 months of start date.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 90 days of start date.
  • Associate's degree in Cardiac Sonography or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience.
Working Conditions
  • Work in a fast-paced diagnostic imaging environment.
  • Stand for long periods and move frequently throughout the department.
  • Occasionally lift and move patients and equipment.
