About the Role

G-Research is a leading quantitative research and technology firm, with offices in London and Dallas. We are seeking an experienced Compute Windows Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Automate zero-touch Windows build and decommission using tools such as Ansible, Packer, Jenkins or similar
  • Manage the lifecycle of Windows-based infrastructure, including patching, using tools such as Microsoft WSUS, and software package deployment tools
  • Develop tooling to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of our Windows infrastructure as part of the wider platform
  • Manage Microsoft Remote Desktop Services infrastructure
  • Implement and maintain security best practices
  • Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and policies
Requirements
  • Strong automation skills using tools such as PowerShell, Python, and Ansible
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and GitOps principles
  • Experience with managing Microsoft Active Directory, including core infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP, and PKI
  • Experience with virtualization environments, such as VMware vSphere
  • Experience with monitoring tooling, such as Prometheus and Grafana
  • Experience with secret management tools, such as Hashicorp Vault or similar
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with Azure and AWS cloud technologies is beneficial
