Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team at General Dynamics Information Technology. As an Electrical Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for the repair, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems on naval vessels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintain electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances on naval vessels.
  • Install and replace electrical systems, including wiring, switches, and motors.
  • Inspect and test electrical equipment and systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Isolate defects in electrical systems and make repairs as needed.
  • Work from diagrams, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to complete electrical system installations and repairs.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Participate in special projects as required.
  • Must be able to obtain all necessary badges and work in a variety of environments, including extreme temperatures and confined spaces.
Requirements
  • High school diploma and/or a technical vocational high school diploma.
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical systems maintenance and repair, including 1+ years of shipboard experience.
  • Experience in the operation, repair, and maintenance of naval or marine hull, mechanical, or electrical systems is highly desired.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and transport heavy equipment and boxes up to 75 lbs.
  • Travel may be required for up to 20% of the time.
