Job Summary:

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team on a per diem basis. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing general radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations, as well as operating mobile x-ray units in various areas of the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform radiologic procedures to produce high-quality imaging for diagnostic purposes, adhering to protocols and age-specific needs.
  • Manage clerical duties in radiology information systems, picture archiving and communication systems, and hospital computer systems as required.
  • Provide coverage to other radiology positions in the department as needed.
  • Ensure patient care meets physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs, regardless of age.
  • Supervise and assist affiliated radiography students.
  • Follow quality assurance and quality control guidelines for all equipment.

Requirements:

  • Experience in general radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels within an organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required, with experience in radiology information systems, picture archiving and communication systems, and electronic health records preferred.
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology, with registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required.
  • Certification: Radiologic Technologist licensure is required, with certification to practice in the specific state of employment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) AHA certification is required.

Working Conditions:

This is a per diem position, with on-call responsibilities as needed.
