Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrophysiology Specialist to join our team at CHRISTUS Health. As an Electrophysiology Specialist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic tests, including EEGs, Nerve Conduction Studies, EMGs, and related exams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform EEGs, Nerve Conduction Studies, EMGs, and related exams with minimal supervision.
  • Assist physicians with preliminary reports and during interpretation.
  • Perform Quantitative EEG, EEG, Evoked Potentials, and Transcranial Doppler studies.
  • Set up, monitor, download, and edit raw data for long-term video EEG monitoring.
  • Perform EKGs using the Marquette MAC VU, 12, 8, and PC machines.
  • Perform electrocardiograms for in-patient and outpatient populations, including all ages.
  • Perform routine EEGs and long-term video EEG monitoring for evaluation of possible abnormal brain activity and for epilepsy and medicine modification.
  • Perform Transcranial Doppler studies for evaluation of cerebral blood flow.
  • Perform accurate Evoked Potential recording (Visual Evoked Responses, and Modified Baer).
  • Perform Holter monitor hookup and the scanning of Holter monitor tapes.
  • Perform 12 or 24-hour pneumogram hook-up with or without pulse oximetry for in-patient pediatrics and neonates.
  • Perform cardiac exercise treadmill testing, routine, and pharmacological and Tilt table stress.
  • Schedule all patients for any and all procedures performed in the department that require an appointment.
  • Maintain all diagnostic equipment by assuring that they are properly functioning and cleaned after every patient.
  • Notify physician daily for exam interpretation and files reports.
  • Check weekly for needed supplies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of the Medical Assistant Program or one year of career-oriented college credits (24 credit hours) is preferred.
  • 2 years experience in performing EEG in a clinical setting is required.
  • 1 year experience with EKG/Stress testing preferred.
  • BLS required.
