Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Highway Lighting & Traffic Signal Foreman to join our team at The Levy Company in Austin, TX. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for guiding a team on various projects building traffic signals, highway and street lighting, infrastructure, and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) within Texas.
Main Responsibilities- Project Management: Estimate material or worker requirements to complete jobs, ensure all material and equipment needed are available to complete the job prior to beginning work, and record and submit personnel, production, equipment, and other operational data on specified forms, reports, and systems.
- Leadership: Assign work based on employee qualifications and job procedures, assist workers engaged in construction activities, using hand tools and other equipment, and provide guidance and direction to less senior crew members.
- Operations: Read utility locates, coordinates potholing, and ensure the worksite is safe for work and perform all required safety duties, underground conduit, mounting devices, installing poles, and drilling caissons, installation of required equipment, wiring of equipment, and trouble shooting and integration of required equipment.
- Qualifications: At least five years of industry experience with at least one year of recent experience erecting highway signage / lighting and traffic signals, valid class C driver license, and two years in a lead role providing guidance and direction to less senior crew members.
- Preferred Qualifications: Highway construction experience, previous experience as a foreman, valid Texas commercial driver license, IMSA Level 2 certification, advanced understanding of construction practices and use of tools and equipment in construction, effective leadership skills with the ability to appropriately motivate subordinate employees, ability to operate heavy equipment such as backhoe, bucket truck, & boom truck, basic mathematical skills, advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, ability to organize own work and that of others, ability to comprehend and apply oral and written instructions, ability to provide oral and written instructions, and ability to complete work accurately, timely, and safely under minimal supervision.
