We are seeking a skilled Nurse Coordinator to join our team at Ascension Outpatient Niehoff Pavilion in Elk Grove Village, IL. As a key member of our healthcare operations team, you will play a critical role in coordinating bed management, ensuring efficient admissions and transfers, and optimizing occupancy.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate a centralized bed management system to facilitate efficient admissions and transfers, optimize occupancy, and avoid delays in service.
- Communicate with clinical staff to determine the status of pending discharges, transfers, and bed availability, and plan bed assignments accordingly.
- Review all admissions and transfers for clinical/unit appropriateness and medical necessity.
- Take appropriate action in the event criteria are not met or appropriate resources are not available.
- Provide direction and support to admissions coordinators to ensure efficient patient access and flow.
- Analyze bed management data, identify issues, and potential resolutions, and prepare reports for executive review.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Education: Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
- Availability to work 12-hour night shifts, Thursday to Saturday.
