Job Summary:

As a key member of our healthcare team, the Certified Medical Assistant will play a vital role in coordinating patient care with physicians, assisting with assessments, administering medications, and performing administrative duties that support patient care.

Responsibilities:

Clinical Support

• Greet patients and escort them to exam rooms, preparing them for exams or treatments.

• Assist physicians with assessments and provide support as needed.

• Perform spirometry and other breathing tests as ordered.

• Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.

• Educate patients on their medical conditions and treatment plans.

• Complete accurate documentation in patient medical records.

• Call in prescriptions as ordered by physicians or nurse practitioners.

• Perform allergy prick testing and administer allergy injections as ordered.

• Monitor patients' medical status for potential adverse reactions.

• Maintain emergency equipment, including oxygen and suction.

• Answer patient-related phone calls and respond according to clinical protocol.

• Follow up on referrals and insurance authorizations as needed.

• Maintain clinical supply stock and medication samples.


Other

• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines.

• Stay up-to-date on practice management software and other relevant systems.

• Attend regular meetings and training programs, including CPR, OSHA, and HIPAA.

• Perform other tasks and projects assigned by the Manager.

• Complete all assigned training programs within designated timeframes.

• Comply with Allergy Partners' policies and report incidents of policy violations.


Requirements:

• High school degree required.

• CMA certificate desirable.


Qualifications and Experience:

• At least one year of experience in clinical assisting.

• Comfortable using email and interacting with internet applications.

• Knowledge of practice management and word processing software.

• Good communication skills.

• Neat, professional appearance.
