Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL
LPL Solar is a leading self-perform construction firm specializing in large-scale solar project development for utility companies and Independent Power Producers (IPPs). Our management team boasts a combined experience of 84GW of solar experience across 650+ projects in twenty-one states and the Canadian province of Ontario.
Job Summary:
As a Project Accountant, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the financial aspects of construction projects. Your responsibilities will include creating budgets, analyzing costs, and ensuring accurate financial tracking. Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Financial Contract Management: Review and process project-related contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and other agreements to ensure required clauses and details are included.
- Cost Control: Review and process general job cost invoices and subcontractor billings accurately and timely.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Coordinate with legal and compliance departments as necessary.
- Record Keeping: Maintain an organized system of physical and digital records.
- Inventory Management: Reconcile monthly inventories and materials analysis as directed.
- Project Closeout: Ensure all project costs (equipment, material, supplies, misc.) are processed, and perform closeout functions including reconciliations, financial status reports, final invoices, and final reporting.
- Time and Effort Reporting: Assist with time and effort reporting system and ensure it is complete and in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Subcontractor Management: Ensure proper payments to all subcontractors and major suppliers.
- Financial Reporting: Produce statements and reports using a variety of sources.
- Accounting Support: Assist with other areas of accounting to ensure a timely month-end closing.
- Special Projects: Complete other related duties and assist with special projects as needed.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Certification: Preferred certification in construction accounting.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in private or public accounting.
- Skills: Working knowledge of construction cost accounting and related financial procedures, familiarity with accounting software such as Sage 300 and Procore, working knowledge of the construction industry, sound analytical and mathematical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
