We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team at Lawton Public Schools. As an Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs by providing high-quality occupational therapy services.

Job Description

The primary responsibility of this role is to assist the Occupational Therapist in all areas, including identification of students through screenings and initial referrals for occupational therapy services, data collection for assessments, and provision of direct and indirect occupational therapy services under the direction of the OTR.

  • Assist in Identification of Students: Assist in identifying students through screenings and initial referrals for occupational therapy services.
  • Data Collection and Assessment: Collect data for assessments and make recommendations for intervention and modifications of treatment/goals (with OTR supervision) and act as an IEP team member.
  • Direct and Indirect Services: Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services under the direction of the OTR.
  • Documentation and Claims: Document all services provided and file appropriate Medicaid claim forms on assigned date to the Special Services Center.
  • Consultation and Collaboration: Consult with classroom staff, other service providers, parents, and medical personnel regarding the therapeutic management of students.
  • In-Service Programs: Provide in-service programs for school personnel regarding implementation of modalities included in the student's IEP.
  • Clinical Instruction: Provide clinical instruction for students in Occupational Therapy Assistant programs.

We offer a competitive salary of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. This estimate is based on national averages for similar positions in the United States.
