Job Overview

We are seeking a Retail Merchandising Specialist to support merchandising operations in our college bookstore. As part of our team, you will ensure that products such as cosmetics and trial travel items are well-stocked, organized, and promoted according to our standards. The role involves working closely with Store Management to maintain and enhance the shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Merchandising & Stocking: Maintain product displays and ensure shelves are fully stocked with inventory, following planograms and store guidelines.
  • Ordering Inventory: Place orders for products using company-provided technology, including tablets and scanners, to keep up with demand.
  • Store Visits: Regularly visit assigned stores based on a set schedule. Tasks include checking product levels, organizing displays, completing audits, and taking photos for reporting.
  • Customer Service: Communicate with Store Associates and Management to resolve issues, answer questions, and provide exceptional service.
  • Promotions & Sales Knowledge: Stay informed on current sales, promotions, and policies related to product returns and exchanges.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Verify shipments and deliveries.
  • Clean and organize display areas.
  • Maintain consistent communication with L&R District Manager (DM).
  • Physical labor: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when stocking or setting up displays.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Retail or merchandising experience is a plus.
  • Smartphone or computer with an internet connection.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
