Visual Design Strategist

We are seeking a Senior Brand Designer to join our team in San Francisco, California.
About the RoleThis position entails collaborating with cross-functional teams, including marketing and other stakeholders, to create cohesive and impactful visual solutions across multiple mediums and platforms. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with a clear and compelling point of view, while remaining flexible and open to collaboration.
The role will involve communicating effectively with creative/art directors, designers, copywriters, developers, project and marketing managers. This person should be able to think beyond a single channel execution, know how to scale designs effectively across responsive states and channel variance between print, out-of-home, web, email, and social, and expand the potential of design systems and template frameworks.
Key responsibilities include designing brand elements and applications across marketing materials, creating production-ready assets and hand-off annotation specifications, contributing to Uber's multi-channel, design systems across marketing surfaces, and working with development and deployment teams to review and approve asset deliverables.
What You'll Do- Design Solutions: Develop scalable and extensible design systems, guidelines, responsive web pages or emails, out of home or advertisements that meet business and technical requirements.
- Collaborate Effectively: Partner seamlessly with cross-functional teams, receiving feedback and adapting work; foster strong working relationships with cross-functional partners.
- Lead and Mentor: Experience leading and mentoring designers while managing collaborations with external agency partners.
In this role, you will work on multiple projects, prioritizing as needed and efficiently managing time while receiving strategic and tactical direction. You will intelligently explore the problem space with a high degree of autonomy, using the appropriate tools and levels of fidelity. Owning the design process end-to-end, moving from concept through to shipping and producing handoffs to support that process using channel best practices and creating accurate artifacts ready for deployment.
Basic Qualifications- 5+ years working as a Designer on a brand team, in a creative agency or comparable in-house agency, or creative organization.
- Maintain a portfolio of beautiful, compelling design work.
- Experience working on a range of projects including scalable and extensible design systems, guidelines, responsive web pages or emails, out of home or advertisements.
- Solid experience in all aspects of graphic design, with brand design and visual system design systems are crucial.
- Expertise in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite applications.
- Ability to design according to business and technical requirements and comfort with ambiguity and changes in direction.
- Bring definition to projects by focusing on broader objectives rather than fixed deliverables.
- Experience leading and mentoring designers while managing collaborations with external agency partners.
$124,000 - $137,500 per year
You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program and may be offered an equity award & other types of compensation. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
