Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Genetic Counselor to join our team at Geisinger Health System. As a leader in the field of medical genetics and genetic counseling, you will provide expert guidance and support to families, individuals, and research teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage research projects and clinical programs related to medical genetics, genetic testing, and genetic counseling.
  • Supervise and mentor genetic counselor colleagues, including Genomic Medicine Assistants (GMAs), Genetic Counselor 1's, and Genetic Counselor 2's.
  • Coordinate staff resources to support program operations and direct the implementation and evaluation of research projects and programs.
  • Participate in research meetings, internal seminars, and national meetings to present and discuss research conducted by the work group.
  • Lead educational initiatives, including planning and leading courses for GC or other professional students, and serving as a primary thesis/capstone advisor.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Genetic Counseling (Required)
  • Minimum of 7 years of clinical experience (Required)
  • Certified Genetic Counselor - American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) (Required)
