Job Title: Drug and Alcohol Treatment Specialist

This position is located at a reputable inpatient alcohol and drug rehab facility that provides a supportive environment for individuals struggling with addiction.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and assess individuals referred to inpatient treatment to determine the extent of their problem and develop a course of treatment.
  • Collect and analyze data, observe behavior, and complete necessary screenings to determine the best course of action.
  • Coordinate and recommend clients for a lower level of care prior to discharge to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with referral sources outside the agency.
  • Keep and maintain accurate client charts by completing all necessary forms.
  • Provide on-the-job training to new employees to ensure they develop the necessary knowledge and skills to work with clients.
  • Attend supervision, staffing, and training meetings to stay up-to-date on the latest best practices.
  • Develop a therapeutic relationship with clients and engage them in counseling sessions.
  • Read, interpret, and explain policies, procedures, and regulations to clients and staff.
  • Write and update treatment plans, discharge summaries, and daily charting requirements.

Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as chemical dependency, psychology, social work, or counseling.
  • Two years of clinical experience in a health or human service agency.
  • Ability to learn crisis intervention methods, individual, family, group, and marital counseling techniques.
  • Ability to read and understand office guidelines and forms.
  • Ability to conduct individual, group, family, and marital counseling sessions.
