We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacists in providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Receive and accurately transcribe orders from prescribers under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Assist with training of new employees, educating them in job-specific functions.
- Support Medication Therapy Management, Medsync, and other clinical outreach programs.
- Prepare medications for pick-up, delivery or shipping.
- Solve issues with patient payment (prior authorization, patient assistance needed, etc.).
- Manage cash and other payments accurately.
- Respond to and triage requests from customers for assistance with pharmacy services that do not require a pharmacist's professional judgment or expertise.
- Operate and support automated dispensing technology to supply correct medications for individual patients, according to pharmacist and physician orders.
- Order, receive, restock, and rotate inventory and supplies, and contribute to expiration date management.
- Contribute to process improvement projects.
- Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
- Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
