Professional Cake Artist

Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Professional Cake Artist to join our team at Whole Foods Market. In this role, you will be responsible for creating visually stunning cakes and pastries that exceed our customers' expectations.

About the Job: As a Professional Cake Artist, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of ingredients and techniques to create unique and delicious desserts. You will be expected to follow recipes and procedures while also exercising your creativity to come up with innovative designs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cake Decorating: Create beautiful and intricate designs on cakes and pastries using various piping techniques and icing styles.
• Bakery Operations: Assist with bakery operations, including assembling, filling, and finishing cakes, tarts, and other baked goods.
• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, making recommendations, and ensuring that customers leave the store satisfied.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to achieve sales goals, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and support each other in times of need.

Requirements:

• Experience: A minimum of 6-12 months of experience in a retail or restaurant setting, preferably in a professional bakery or grocery store.
• Skillset: Proficiency in cake decorating techniques, including intermediate piping skills and the ability to create decorative flowers and borders.
• Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
