As a Certified Nursing Assistant with MidCoast Health System, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and Licensed Vocational Nurse. Your primary responsibilities will include providing basic patient care, documenting patient care as directed, and participating in providing a safe therapeutic environment. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining effective communication with patients, families, and staff members.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide basic patient care, including vital sign measurements, bathing, and dressing patients
• Document patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse and Licensed Vocational Nurse
• Participate in providing a safe therapeutic environment, including maintaining a clean and organized workspace
• Develop and maintain effective communication with patients, families, and staff members
• Demonstrate understanding of patient relations and marketing concepts
Requirements
• High School graduate preferred
• Completion of Nurse Assistant Course and CPR certification required
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Working Conditions
• Regularly exposed to risk of bloodborne diseases
• Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances
• Exposed to unpleasant elements, including accidents, injuries, and illness
• Subject to varying and unpredictable emergency or crisis situations
