Job Title: Sonographer I Float

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Sonographer I Float to join our team in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sonographer I Float to perform general, vascular, and cardiac ultrasound procedures. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and prioritize tasks effectively.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to perform procedures, accurately differentiating between normal and pathologic findings.
  • Review patient medical records, obtain necessary clinical information, and compare requisitions to physician orders to ensure exam accuracy.
  • Position patients, select proper transducers, and adjust technical factors to attain accurate images.
  • Maintain patient safety, mental, and physical comfort.
  • Accurately identify and label images, maintaining records in accordance with regulatory agencies.
  • Analyze sonograms, synthesize sonographic information, and communicate findings to physicians.
Requirements:
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months.
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months.
  • Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within 3 months.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Sonography.
  • Competency in all general and/or vascular sonographic procedures.
  • Ability to use independent judgment to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
Working Conditions:

The Sonographer I Float will work in a fast-paced environment, performing procedures in various settings. The ideal candidate will be able to lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull with 30 lbs of force, and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs with a second person present.
