Qualifications for Early Childhood Education Assistant

  • Must fulfill all state requirements for preschool teacher assistants
  • Exhibit a high level of flexibility and willingness to work during business hours
  • Previous experience as a teacher assistant or in a licensed daycare is preferred

Responsibilities of the Role

An Early Childhood Education Assistant will embrace the philosophy of Cadence Education and collaborate with the teaching team to foster a positive learning atmosphere for all children within the center. Responsibilities include:

  • Documenting and communicating significant milestones in a child's day to parents
  • Working alongside other dedicated preschool educators to implement an engaging and developmentally appropriate curriculum
  • Respecting and observing children's interests
  • Intervening as necessary to ensure safety
  • Enhancing children's play through language, toys, and activities
  • Encouraging and modeling socially appropriate behavior
  • Contributing ideas to plan a balanced daily schedule that includes a variety of activities: quiet/active, indoor/outdoor, fine/gross motor, etc.
