Position Overview

Supervise the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, ensuring precision and promptness. Monitor stock levels and conduct regular inventory audits to maintain accurate records. Establish and enforce effective inventory management protocols, including cycle counts and stock rotation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily material requirements for the manufacturing facility, including raw materials, machinery, parts, tools, and services, utilizing optimal procurement practices.
  • Enhance and manage vendor relationships to align with company objectives, including performance monitoring, feedback provision, and trend analysis; collaborate with site teams to negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers and resolve any issues effectively.
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to develop specifications for equipment and materials; review and assess specifications for bidding processes.
  • Participate in contract negotiations; assist in formulating and implementing contract management policies and procedures.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to evaluate current and future material availability.
  • Procure materials and services from suppliers that provide the best value, considering quality, cost, reliability, and urgency.
  • Balance the inventory needs of the facility with a justifiable economic inventory strategy.
  • Supervise and lead the spare parts room with one direct report.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience managing budgets and negotiations exceeding $5M.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Ability to lead a department independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Proven capability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to conceptualize and manage small projects.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

Education and Experience:

  • Exceptional negotiation skills and high-level interpersonal abilities to handle sensitive situations.
  • 3-5 years of experience in procurement; adept at thriving in fast-paced environments and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • CPSM or C.P.M certification is preferred; a demonstrated commitment to the profession is required.
