Your expertise in design comprehension and installation techniques will be essential. You will be tasked with managing extensive broadcast systems, breaking them down into manageable subsystems, and leveraging your solid technical background in video, audio, control, and data/networking.

Collaboration is crucial in this role; you will work closely with the Field Manager, Engineers, Lead Installers, and Project Managers, offering insights on installation standards, technologies, personnel, job specifics, and implementation strategies. Upon project completion, you will deliver red-lined drawings and comprehensive commissioning reports, and may occasionally take on the responsibilities of Project Foreman.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand end-user functional requirements and configure systems accordingly, ensuring alignment with the intended design and client interests.
  • Participate in drawing reviews and proactively identify potential issues with system design, equipment integration, and end-user functionality.
  • Work alongside the project manager and lead installer to develop task lists for technicians.
  • Conduct signal tests to certify cabling and ensure optimal functionality.
  • Program broadcast equipment, including routers, switchers, mixers, and more, both in our fabrication facility and at client sites.
  • Maintain communication with clients, project managers, sales personnel, and engineers to provide updates on status, issues, and solutions.
  • Collaborate with the on-site technical team to finalize punch list items.
  • Compile detailed system commissioning reports.
  • Act as the final quality control point for work performed by company staff and contractors, ensuring all deliverables meet safety and quality standards.
  • Conduct training sessions for employees and clients.
  • Exemplify a high standard of work, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude, serving as a role model for fellow technicians.
  • Engage with subcontractors and third parties as necessary.
  • Identify inefficiencies in the integration process and advocate for effective solutions.
  • Provide technical support to company employees and clients in your areas of expertise.
  • Possess the ability to pull, terminate, and label various types of broadcast video, audio, and control cabling.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of broadcast A/V theory and IT networking.
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, and technical schematics.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Visio, and Bluebeam Revu is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Certifications such as SBE, CTS-I, or CTS-D are advantageous.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in deploying and configuring systems and equipment, including ST 2110 IP media networks, PTP synchronization, and Audio-over-IP signals.
  • Familiarity with a range of broadcast equipment and video/audio signal types.
  • Ability to manage Ethernet traffic and perform general network troubleshooting.
  • Willingness to travel up to 70%, occasionally on short notice.
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and work in various physical positions.
  • Comfortable working at heights and on equipment above shoulder level.
