Charlotte County Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified Naval Science Instructor to join our team. As a JROTC instructor, you will be responsible for teaching students the principles of naval science, leadership, and character development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of all students
• Provide instruction in naval science, leadership, and character development
• Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules and administrative procedures
• Support student learning plans and provide individualized instruction as needed
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide programs and initiatives

Requirements

• Previous military experience in accordance with the ROTC guidelines (DD214)
• Certified Senior Naval Science Instructor or Naval Science Instructor (NSI) and an associate's degree
• Naval Maintenance Index Page (MIP)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited four-year college/university
• Valid Florida teacher certification or equivalent
• Retired Naval or Coast Guard Officer Grades 03-06
• Prior NJROTC experience
• Drill and/or Marksmanship Team, CDMIS, PIEE/WAWF experience
