Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team at TriCities Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care, coordinate unit activities, and ensure accountability for all assigned tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients with a mixed patient population, including Behavioral Health, Geriatric, Ortho, and Pediatric patients.
  • Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
  • Coordinate unit activities, assure accountability of all assigned tasks, and serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate, utilizing computerized documentation systems.
Requirements
  • One year experience in Emergency services is preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or has a Compact license.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
