Position Overview:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to ensure the comfort and health of patients. This role involves preparing medical equipment and assisting physicians during examinations and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
- Administer prescribed medications and perform wound care, including dressing changes and cleaning wounds.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs, conditions, reactions, and progress.
- Engage as the primary nurse, associate nurse, or team leader in the planning and execution of patient care.
- Uphold safe aseptic techniques and procedures while providing guidance to support staff within the department.

Facility Information:
CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-South is strategically located to serve the growing community and is equipped with 158 licensed beds. The facility offers a comprehensive range of medical and surgical services, including pediatrics, obstetrics, emergency care, and advanced diagnostic imaging.

Specialized Care:
The hospital features a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, allowing mothers to stay close to their premature or special needs infants.

Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
- Preferred one year of nursing experience, particularly in critical or acute care settings.
- Current Texas State RN License required.
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- ACLS certification within six months of hire/transfer date (applicable to all facilities).
- PALS certification required within 18 months of hire/transfer date (specific to certain facilities).
- TNCC certification required within 18 months of hire/transfer date (specific to certain facilities).
- NIHSS certification required within 90 days of hire/transfer date (specific to certain facilities).
