About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to join our team at Barry-Wehmiller. As a key member of our Packaging Engineering Practice, you will work closely with our clients to design and implement innovative packaging solutions that meet their unique needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and design packaging equipment to create and modify automated solutions for our clients.
  • Lead project teams to implement packaging solutions in various industries, including consumer, beverage, food, and industrial.
  • Develop equipment design and specifications, as well as bid analyses, to ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international regulations.
  • Collaborate with vendors and contractors to implement cutting-edge automation solutions.
  • Provide engineering solutions for continuous improvement objectives using industry-standard tools and procedures.
  • Identify and troubleshoot potential or current packaging problems and support maintenance mechanics to resolve issues.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in packaging line or material handling solutions design and project engineering.
  • Experience in at least one of the following industries: Beverage, Food, Consumer Products, Pharmaceutical, Industrial, or similar.
  • Deep understanding of all types of packaging equipment, including filling, secondary packaging, and palletizing, in a range of industries and applications.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, including strategic and critical thinking.
  • Excellent project management skills, including communication, financial management, and team leadership.
  • Cross-functional networking and influencing ability.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deal with ambiguity.
  • Strong desire and aptitude to interact and build relationships with clients.
  • BS in Engineering.
