Ideal Candidate:

We are in search of a Security Orchestration Engineer with a proven track record in a dynamic, fast-paced public sector environment. The ideal candidate will have advanced skills in threat detection and response, security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR), playing a crucial role in enhancing the agency's cybersecurity framework. This position offers a unique chance to influence the development and culture of a growing company in the cybersecurity field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with an engineering team to enhance the functionality of security tools to meet operational demands.
  • Develop security automation, orchestration, playbooks, and integrations using Python, REST API, and SOAP API for incident response and threat intelligence.
  • Identify relevant data sources for threat detection scenarios and use cases.
  • Streamline analysis by identifying pertinent alert logs and events.
  • Design and integrate hardware and software solutions, developing use cases with programming languages such as Java, Python, and C++.

Essential Knowledge:

  • Understanding of computer networking concepts, protocols, and security methodologies.
  • Experience in executing technology integration processes.
  • Expertise in security system design tools and network security architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience in security and incident response.
  • Comprehensive understanding of SOAR technology and its application.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (Associate degree may substitute for 2 years of experience, Bachelor's for 3 years).
  • Proficiency in Python and other programming languages for automation tasks.
  • Hands-on experience with SOAR platforms.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering processes.
  • Ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain required security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cybersecurity-related certifications.
