Embryologist I Job Summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a highly skilled Embryologist I to join our team in the IVF Laboratory. As an Embryologist I, you will play a critical role in supporting the laboratory's daily operations, ensuring the highest quality of patient care, and contributing to the success of our fertility programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform basic clinical laboratory techniques in the IVF Laboratory, including in vitro fertilization, gamete handling, insemination, and laboratory quality control.
  • Develop proficiency in laboratory operations and laboratory services, including basic ART procedures and quality control, under the direct supervision of laboratory senior staff and management.
  • Maintain records of training in each procedure and ensure chain of custody for all specimens in the laboratory.
  • Record and report laboratory monitoring, quality control, and patient results in the electronic medical record system and/or the appropriate written format.
  • Communicate with patients and clinical staff as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a chemical, physical, biological, medical technology, clinical or reproductive laboratory science from an accredited institution.
  • One year of laboratory experience or demonstrated laboratory knowledge.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills with ability to interact appropriately with patients, physicians, nursing staff, and co-workers.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and lift up to 25lbs in weight for stocking and inventory responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a medical, healthcare, or laboratory setting.
