Elk Grove Unified School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher, Special Education to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality instruction, assessment, and program planning for students with moderate to severe disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide instruction, assessment, and program planning for students with autism, deaf-blindness, moderate to severe mental retardation, multiple disabilities, and serious emotional disturbance.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress and behavior, and develop strategies to support student success.
  • Research, obtain, and provide instructional materials for special education services, and serve as an informational resource for students, parents, and District personnel.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior support plans.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, and maintain accurate records and reports.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and Education Specialist Instruction Credential - Moderate/Severe Disabilities or Specialist Instruction Credential - Special Education/Severely Handicapped.
  • Valid Early Childhood Education Special Education Credential.
  • English Learner Authorization (CLAD/BCLAD/EL/ELA/SDAIE or equivalent).
  • Two (2) Current Signed Letters of Recommendation.
  • Resume.
