Early Childhood Educator

At Metuchen-Edison YMCA, we are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team.

We offer a competitive salary of $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Job:

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with young children, a strong understanding of child development principles, and excellent communication skills.

This role is responsible for ensuring the care, safety, and well-being of assigned children under the supervision of a professional staff. The educator will deliver high-quality programs that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development in a nurturing environment.

Main Responsibilities:

• Supervise and engage with children during activities, including outdoor play and classroom experiences;
• Assist with daily routines such as nap time, feeding, and personal hygiene;
• Administer first aid and maintain accurate records of incidents;
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement curriculum-aligned activities;
• Communicate effectively with parents and staff regarding children's progress and needs;

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field;
• Previous experience working with young children (0-5 years) in a group setting;
• Ability to establish positive relationships with children, families, and staff;
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills;
• Certifications in CPR, First Aid, and any other relevant area;
