Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian II to join our team at VCU Health. As a key member of our clinical nutrition team, you will provide and document nutrition care to patients in a variety of settings.

Responsibilities
  • Competently provide and document nutrition care to patients in accordance with practice area guidelines.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized nutrition plans.
  • Conduct nutrition assessments and counseling sessions with patients and their families.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest nutrition research and guidelines to ensure evidence-based practice.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Registered as a Dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • For Clinical Nutrition I: May be registry eligible, but must pass the RD exam within the first 6 months of employment in the position.
  • Advancement from Clinical Nutrition I to a Clinical Nutrition II is required one year after passing the Registered Dietitian exam.
  • Maintenance of Registered Dietitian status with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • CPR training for those practicing in the outpatient nutrition clinic.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in providing nutrition care in an acute care setting.
  • Specialty certification in the area of practice.
  • Certificate in Training (Adult Weight Management, Childhood & Adolescent Weight Management); Motivational interview training.
  • Experience with clinical research protocols for applicable positions.
