Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer Principal to join our team at UC San Diego Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing advanced echocardiography procedures, including 3D echocardiography and strain imaging. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology, as well as experience with ultrasound enhancement agents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic recordings and accurate measurements of echocardiography images and Doppler hemodynamic data
  • Apply advanced cardiac ultrasound imaging techniques, including 3D echocardiography and strain imaging
  • Contribute to work organization and scheduling as a member of a self-directed work team
  • Participate in the training of cardiac sonographers, students, residents, and fellows in echocardiography
Requirements
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification
  • 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of sonography education and experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with adult congenital and pediatric echocardiography
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer certification issued by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
