Key Responsibilities- Provide direct and indirect patient care services, meeting the psychosocial, physical, and restorative needs of each patient.
- Make decisions and take actions with patients and families in an ethical manner, practicing compassion and respect for the inherent dignity, worth, and unique attributes of each person.
- Effectively communicate with patients/families, visitors, colleagues, physicians, leadership, and volunteers.
- Deliver safe and effective patient care within legal limits of licensure and hospital policies and procedures.
- Participate in the development and implementation of individualized patient care plans, prioritizing patient needs and collaborating with the healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Respond quickly and accurately to emergencies in the work environment and/or to changes in patient condition.
- Perform registered nursing duties under general supervision, demonstrating professional conduct, effective communication, and effective delegation of tasks.
- Current licensure as an RN in North Carolina.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with the public, patients, family, staff, and physicians, utilizing positive verbal and non-verbal skills.
- Competent in delivering safe and effective patient care within legal limits of licensure and hospital policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of the continuum of nursing care provided in the patient care department.
- Ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service to patients, family, staff, and physicians.
- Previous experience as a registered nurse in an acute or clinic setting.
- Previous experience in a similar role with a similar scope.
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications from the American Heart Association.
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certifications from the ENA.
- Regularly exposed to the risk of blood-borne diseases.
- Frequently exposed to hazards from electrical/mechanical/power equipment, odorous chemicals and specimens, and unpleasant elements.
- Subject to irregular hours, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Continuous standing and walking for long periods.
- Speaking, reading, and writing for extended periods.
