Summary: The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the cleanliness and grooming of dogs in our care. Our facility operates year-round, and employees are expected to adhere to their scheduled shifts. The role involves spending the majority of time standing while bathing, brushing, and drying dogs, with additional time dedicated to maintaining the cleanliness of the grooming area and managing related laundry tasks.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Bathing, drying, and grooming dogs
  • Keeping accurate grooming records
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the grooming space, including laundry duties as needed

Qualifications: To excel in this position, candidates must be capable of fulfilling each essential duty effectively. The qualifications outlined below represent the skills and abilities necessary for success. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.


Education and Experience: Experience with dog handling is preferred. This may include pet ownership, previous experience working with animals, or participation in dog training and behavior workshops. Attendance at training sessions may be required outside of regular working hours.


Physical Requirements: Candidates must be able to perform various physically demanding tasks, including lifting at least 50 pounds (such as bags of dog food, crates, or dogs) and standing for extended periods. Skills in grasping, pinching, and pulling are essential for handling dogs safely.


Health Requirements: All dog bathers must be up to date on their Tetanus vaccinations.


Language Skills: Ability to read and understand dog information, including names and bathing instructions. Effective communication of dog-related issues with management is required, both in writing and verbally. Maintaining clear records of grooming activities is also necessary.


Mathematical Skills: Basic skills in measuring and counting are needed for cleaning tasks and handling customer transactions.


Computer Skills: A fundamental understanding of Windows-based applications is beneficial.


Reasoning Skills: Ability to identify problems, assess emergencies, and respond effectively.
