Overview
The Patient Accounts Technician plays a crucial role in executing various tasks related to the Patient Accounts division. This department is tasked with the billing and collection processes for patient accounts, accurately posting cash payments, and delivering exceptional customer service to patients regarding their account statuses. Adherence to productivity benchmarks is essential, as set by the departmental leadership.
Qualifications
Education: A GED or High School Diploma is mandatory.
Experience: A minimum of two years in patient accounting is required, along with familiarity with medical terminology, billing procedures, follow-up, and collection practices. Proficiency in Epic EMR is preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate performance standards such as ownership, teamwork, effective communication, and compassion, all of which contribute to patient satisfaction and service excellence principles.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
The individual should possess a relevant combination of education, experience, and qualifications.
