Program Objective:
The Downtown Cleaning Corps initiative aims to foster an appealing public atmosphere within our designated urban area.
Our team undertakes various tasks to ensure that Downtown Baltimore remains clean and well-kept. Responsibilities include sweeping, emptying waste receptacles, weeding, plant removal, graffiti eradication, debris clearance, and other related maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collect and dispose of litter and waste from public thoroughfares, sidewalks, and pathways.
2. Manage large outdoor waste containers, which may require lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds.
3. Eliminate weeds from public pathways, tree beds, and designated areas.
4. Clear animal and human waste from public spaces.
5. Remove graffiti and stickers from various public structures.
6. Conduct seasonal snow and leaf removal tasks.
7. Engage with the public in a courteous and professional manner.
Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Must possess the physical capability to lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
2. Minimum age requirement of 18 years.
3. Exhibit professionalism, courtesy, and patience while interacting with the public during work hours and while in uniform.
4. Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for an eight-hour shift.
5. Compliance with uniform requirements.
6. Flexibility to work day and evening shifts, including weekends and holidays, with potential for overtime.
7. Ability to work independently and adhere to both written and verbal instructions.
8. Successful completion of pre-employment assessments, including substance screening and reference verification.
