Construction Estimator for Heavy Civil Projects

At The H&K Group, Inc., we are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our heavy civil construction division, you will play a crucial role in planning, directing, and coordinating project activities to ensure goals are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, a team player, and a creative problem solver with excellent verbal and written communication skills. You should have a strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and materials, as well as proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other specialized tools.
Key Responsibilities:- Solicit and maintain positive relationships with clients
- Analyze plans and specifications to determine project timelines, budgets, and resource requirements
- Prepare and submit quality estimates within tight deadlines
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors
- Evaluate and prepare pricing for change orders
- Direct and coordinate project personnel to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
- Five years of experience in heavy civil construction relevant to this region
- Driver's license and clean driving record
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Proficient computer skills, including internet and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes 100% company-paid health benefits, a 401(k) savings and investment plan, tuition reimbursement programs, and additional training opportunities.
