Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic procedures in accordance with established professional and departmental standards and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of radiologic principles and theory, anatomy, and pathology processes, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities
  • Perform radiographic procedures using the most appropriate technique and/or positioning for optimal examinations.
  • Adhere to department policies and protocols to ensure all examinations are optimized for interpretation.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to obtain clinical history and informed consent.
  • Explain procedures to patients and families, and answer any questions to ease anxiety and assure patient cooperation.
  • Recognize clinical and/or emergent problems that may interfere with exams and take appropriate action to resolve them.
  • Correctly identify patients and their files to ensure a high degree of accuracy.
  • Track patients according to department procedures and identify errors for immediate correction.
  • Maintain exposure reading within the As Low As Reasonably Achievable limits.
  • Use radiation protection procedures and patient safety measures to ensure a safe environment.
  • Report, document, and correct any adverse, unsafe, or unusual conditions.
  • Maintain an orderly, safe, and clean environment, and ensure rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies.
Qualifications
  • Recent hospital experience as a Radiologic Technologist is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to perform on-call, shift, holiday, and weekend duties.
  • DE LICENSED - Licensed in the state of DE.
  • BLS - Basic Life Saving certification.
  • DE RADIATION - Delaware State Radiation license.
  • Associates Degree in a related field.
