About the Role
The Labor & Delivery RN provides family-centered care on the high-risk Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, and Birth Center units at Jacobs Medical Center. Responsibilities include L&D, triage, OR, PACU, and couplet care. Successful candidates will have excellent critical thinking and time management skills, be self-motivated, patient advocates, and effective communicators. Autonomous nursing care requires assessing and providing appropriate patient care based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge, consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance.
Responsibilities
- Provide family-centered care to patients on the Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, and Birth Center units.
- Assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations.
- Exercise independent judgment within interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:
- A graduate degree from an accredited school of Nursing.
- An active California RN license.
- BLS/CPR certification at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date.
- Current NRP certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
- AWHONN intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring course completion certification.
- Minimum two (2) years of recent Labor and Delivery RN experience in a high-delivery volume hospital.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- BSN.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- RNC certification.
- Experience as Triage, Circulator/PACU, and/or Charge.
- Greater than two (2) years of relevant acute care experience.
- Experience working in an academic medical center.
- Evidence of contributions to improving nursing practice through quality improvement.
Salary Information
This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $123,902 - $173,659 per annum, commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications. The hourly equivalent is approximately $59.34 - $83.17.
