As a Structural Fitter at Warren Fabricating, you will lay out, fit, and assemble steel frameworks for significant power generation equipment, as well as large girders, beams, and nodes used in skyscrapers.

We are an American-owned company dedicated to revitalizing American manufacturing, with a legacy spanning 55 years. Positions are available for both Day and Afternoon shifts.



Key Responsibilities:


Assemble and fit structural frameworks and housings from materials such as angle iron, I-beams, and steel plates, utilizing hand tools and welding equipment while adhering to blueprint specifications:
- Review blueprints and material lists to determine part specifications.
- Mark parts dimensions on the worktable using squares, chalk lines, and soapstone.

- Tack-weld scrap metal to create a jig for assembly.
- Position parts in the jig and use files, chisels, and grinders to ensure proper fit.
- Heat parts with an acetylene torch and bend them as necessary using vises, anvils, or stakes mounted on the table.

- Maintain and repair all equipment with care.
- Execute basic welding techniques to prepare parts for the welding process.


Qualifications:

- Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
- Ability to follow directions accurately.
- Strong knowledge of shop mathematics and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn new tasks and operate various tools and machinery.
- Familiarity with overhead cranes, torches, welding machines, and shop tools.

- Capability to pass a basic welding test.
- Adherence to safety and quality protocols.
- Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and participation in relevant safety training.
- Must demonstrate reliability and trustworthiness, as our team and reputation are paramount.
