We are seeking a highly skilled Transmission Line Technician to join our team at Power Corporation of America. As a key member of our transmission team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing transmission and distribution electrical systems and associated equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Install, maintain, and repair transmission and distribution electrical systems and associated equipment
- Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance, or repair work of energized and de-energized transmission work
- Capable of leading crew members in the absence of the Foreman
- Stringing overhead wire, setting poles and anchors, and troubleshooting problems on transmission systems
- Frequently works with energized high voltage systems requiring skill and care to protect the lives of themselves and others
- Maintains company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order
- Minimum 3 years formal training, certificate of completion of formal training, or 8 years on-the-job training
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
- Work is performed outside and includes exposure to extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, and noise
- Willing to work in various locations across the state/country and for extended periods, when required
- Must be able to follow Company safety rules and all other Company policies
- Must be able to obtain a CDL class B within 90 days of hire
- Willing to submit and pass a pre-employment drug screen
This role requires the physical ability to climb, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, and perform repetitive motions.
