Position Overview:

The role involves the safe and efficient operation of a tanker truck. The primary responsibility is to manage the filling and emptying of the water tank while transporting water from designated locations to treatment facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a 4,000-gallon tanker truck with precision.
  • Utilize diesel water pumps for filling and emptying operations at designated sites.
  • Transport water to treatment facilities while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Attach and detach hoses for loading and unloading water, ensuring a seamless process throughout the day.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintaining detailed reports as required.
  • Communicate any mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel promptly.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and regulations during operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle, both inside and out.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Understanding of truck components and basic maintenance for safe operation.
  • Capability to operate various vehicles and equipment necessary for the job.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Basic mathematical skills for operational tasks.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in backing up trailers and understanding air brake systems.
  • Capacity to drive vehicles weighing up to 80,000 lbs.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class A or B.
  • Tanker endorsement is mandatory.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • At least one year of commercial driving experience or completion of a CDL training program.
  • Must meet safety-sensitive function criteria as per company standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate the truck and equipment safely.

Physical and Mental Demands:
  • Ability to perform various physical tasks including standing, walking, and lifting.
  • Visual acuity for safe vehicle operation in diverse environments.
  • Regularly lift/move weights up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
  • Work in loud conditions and varying weather.

Working Conditions:
  • Exposure to loud noise, humidity, and extreme weather conditions.
  • Outdoor work environment for the majority of the time.
  • Continuous travel away from the base location.
  • Occasional work in high places and heavy traffic conditions.
