United Way Miami, Inc. is seeking a Family Engagement Specialist to enhance our Operations team. In this role, you will cultivate and sustain connections with families, ensuring they receive holistic services through their involvement in our initiatives. The Family Engagement Specialist will also spearhead community outreach to identify and forge partnerships with local organizations that offer essential services to families.

Key Responsibilities:

The Family Engagement Specialist at the United Way Center for Excellence Demonstration School will report to the Family Support Supervisor.

  • Establish and nurture relationships with families.
  • Recruit and onboard families into the program.
  • Conduct home assessments to evaluate family resources and needs.
  • Collaborate with parents to enhance their understanding of child development, foster positive parent-child interactions, and empower them as advocates for their children's education.
  • Connect families to necessary services.
  • Maintain enrollment through effective recruitment strategies.
  • Coordinate services for both children and parents.
  • Work alongside the Disabilities Coordinator to engage families with children who have disabilities.
  • Implement follow-up protocols for absenteeism.
  • Assist parents in comprehending and executing the Family Partnership Agreement.

Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is required. A minimum of three years of experience in a Head Start or family support program is essential.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in modern web browsers, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
