We are seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team at Presbyterian Healthcare Services. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality computed tomographic radiographs, reviewing exams for clinical appropriateness, and prioritizing exams effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize clinical reasoning to manage computerized tomographic radiograph imaging, including global grasp of situations, critical thinking, decision making, critical actions, priority setting, and escalation of concerns.
- Represent patients' concerns and help resolve ethical and clinical issues that impact patients' situations, using effective communication to escalate concerns to appropriate leaders.
- Create a compassionate, supportive, and therapeutic environment for patients and staff, promoting comfort and healing, and preventing unnecessary suffering or harm.
- Educate patients prior to scanning procedures, explaining the procedure and answering patient questions.
- Involves multidisciplinary teams and patients/significant others to promote optimal and realistic goals and outcomes, working with other departments to create effective patient exam flows.
- Effectively manage environmental and system resources across the healthcare system and community to meet patients' needs and ensure quality care and outcomes.
- Assess clinical areas to uncover and report safety issues, including physical space, expired supplies, and damaged equipment.
- Use a holistic body, mind, spirit approach in provision of care, recognizing, appreciating, and incorporating cultural, spiritual, gender, race, ethnicity, lifestyle, socioeconomic, age, and values differences in practice.
- Foster patients' learning to promote self-care, contributing to the orientation and professional growth of colleagues, and properly conducting pre/post procedure screening.
- Support student educational programs, invest quality time onboarding new employees, and stay current on technology protocols and advances.
- Use high standards and evidence-based practices, questioning, research, and evaluation skills to provide informed and/or change practice, and properly assess patient condition for imaging.
- Perform necessary clinical and technical safety checks and screening processes, validating reasons for exams with patients prior to scanning, addressing all safety concerns prior to scanning, and performing red rules to ensure right patient/right exam/right order.
- Demonstrate and role model CARES behaviors of continuous learning, accountability, respecting and responding, ensuring an environment of health, and obtaining superior outcomes in all endeavors related to job responsibilities.
- Support organizational and department business objectives by providing standardized, evidence-based care that contributes to achieving optimal outcomes and patient experiences.
- ARRT certification is required.
- Must have a NM Computed Tomography License (NMCT) or NM Computed Tomography Provisional License (NMPCT).
- Current BLS is required.
- Education: Associate Degree is essential.
- Credentials: NM Computed Tomography is essential.
