Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team in General and Bariatric Surgery at NYU Langone Health. The successful candidate will work from multiple Brooklyn sites, supporting a physician who specializes in general and bariatric surgery. This role does not have OR time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive medical care using sound medical knowledge and pertinent standards of care.
  • Perform delegated clinical duties effectively and efficiently.
  • Prescribe medical equipment, devices, physical and occupational therapy, and home health services per practice protocol.
  • Prescribe in-patient and discharge medications according to New York State law, including controlled substances with DEA authorization.
  • Work collaboratively with the attending physician to maintain timely and appropriate communication with family members, house staff, other disciplines, and ancillary services.
Requirements
  • Physician Assistant Bachelor's Degree
  • Current New York State Physician Assistant License
  • NCCPA Board Certification
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, NALS per delineation of privileges
  • At least one year of general surgery experience required, willing to train in bariatrics
  • Willingness to travel to multiple Brooklyn-based sites
Preferred Qualifications
  • Membership in pertinent professional organizations preferred
  • Bariatric experience preferred
