Water and Wastewater Maintenance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to lead our Water and Wastewater Maintenance team in North Carolina. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our water and wastewater treatment systems.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians to perform routine maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to water and wastewater treatment systems.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and plans to ensure optimal system performance and minimize downtime.
- Conduct regular inspections and testing to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and resolve issues promptly.
- Manage and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inventory, and equipment performance.
- Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for employees and the public.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and optimize system performance.
- 5+ years of experience in water and wastewater maintenance and operations, with a focus on leadership and management.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with specialized vocational training in a related field (e.g., automotive mechanics, electrical, or mechanical engineering).
- Valid state driver's license and ability to meet minimum driving standards.
- Ability to lift over 50 pounds and exert over 100 pounds of force on a regular basis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, customers, and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions.
This position requires frequent standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing. The employee must be able to use hands to operate and manipulate tools and equipment. The position requires very heavy physical exertion, including the ability to lift over 50 pounds and exert over 100 pounds of force on a regular basis. The employee must be willing to work non-standard and overtime hours as required.
The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing, and depth perception. The physical and environmental demands required to perform the essential duties of this position include standing, walking, sitting, coordination, balance, and agility demands, which may include the ability to stoop, kneel, squat, grasp, reach, and perform repetitive hand movements. Additional demands may involve a specific level of dexterity, grip strength, climbing, and cardiorespiratory demands. The work areas may be indoor, outdoor, have loud noise, active machinery, high-pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights, and depths, fumes, airborne particles, noxious gases, and chemicals. The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact.
